Celebrate the Winter Solstice with haunting legends of light, masterfully told, surrounded by traditional and original music and song performed by multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan. Traditional tales of the longest night include the beautiful Scandinavian myth: Balder and the Mistletoe, humorous English Wassail stories, and Evergreen legends. Master storyteller Diane Edgecomb offers a fascinating look at the stories behind winter holiday traditions as songs evocative of the season and lovely instrumental melodies round out the event. The performance marks the release of Diane’s new double-album: “The Winter Solstice in Story and Song” with an accompanying booklet on Winter Solstice traditions. Information on the CD release and the Performance can be found on the aritist website.
