Bio
Sue learned all about storytelling through her 32 years as an elementary teacher and librarian in San Antonio. A frequent presenter of workshops on integrating the TEKS and storytelling into writing, reading, and theater arts, Sue storytells around the state of Texas and excites young and old audiences alike to love and appreciate traditional folktales, fairy tales, and personal tales. She founded and continues to work with elementary and middle school storytelling clubs where five of her students through the years had been selected to perform at the National Youth Storytelling Showcase. She was quickly selected for the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Artist Roster and promotes the fact that TCA>s goal is to bring the arts into the schools/libraries by paying up to half the fees of their artists on the roster! She is currently the president of the San Antonio Storytellers Association and is on the board of the Tejas Storytelling Association. She was the 2016 recipient of the TSA Colson-Herndon Educator Award given for the advancement of storytelling in education.
