Transforming Organizations Through the MasterStory Experience
The prevalent organizational development model being practiced today focuses on what we characterize as alignment. We tell employees what our mission, vision and values are and then do everything we can to get everyone aligned with these principles. It’s akin to herding cats, has never worked particularly well, and is out of step with the new realities of building organizations that support sustainability. What we believe is needed is an integration model in which first every organization discovers or creates its MasterStory—a storyline that optimizes its possibilities and sustainable impact in the world. Likewise, every leader has a MasterStory that can optimize their professional and personal possibilities. When organizations commit to aspirational goals and supporting the optimal growth of each and every employee to discover their highest purpose, something truly transformational can occur.
