Speak Story Series is pleased to present a special fundraiser featuring a concert with Emmy Award-winning storyteller Jim May and a discussion with Jim and our own Adam Booth. Our goal for the evening is to raise $3500 to support Speak. Please mark your calendars for the chance to get inside the creative process of storytelling, to support Speak, and to enjoy refreshments by Carol Sanders. The evening will include a silent auction, so be sure to have your checkbook handy. Adam will also announce the complete 2019 season lineup.

Please note that while Reynolds Hall remains our general concert venue, this fundraising event will take place at the Shepherdstown Community Club.
Jim May is an Emmy Award-winning storyteller and author. A full-time, free-lance storyteller since 1986, Jim has told his original and traditional stories at storytelling festivals across the US, Europe, and Canada. A former teacher and counselor, he is a popular workshop leader and keynote speaker. His next keynote will be for the Michigan Librarian's Association, March, 2019.
His first collection of stories, The Farm On Nippersink Creek (August House, 1994), a collection of family stories, won an American Public Library Association "Best Book Award." His latest collection, Trail Guide For A Crooked Heart (Parkhurst Brothers, 2016), a collection of inspirational stories and essays, won an Anne Izard "Storyteller's Choice Award," "A Storytelling World Award" and Five Stars (*****) "Readers Favorite."
