November 11, 2018 –
NEAR and Far Storytellers and The Buttonwood are proud to present Tellabration!™, a world-wide celebration of storytelling. Every November, thousands of tellers and listeners gather on every continent except Antarctica to enjoy the oral tradition…and it started right here in Connecticut!
Our featured storytellers will be Lorraine Hartin-Gelardi, Carolyn Stearns and Jim Harriman who will present an eclectic range of stories.
Lorraine is a versatile performer with a style that just erupts with joy and enthusiasm. Her stories of wit, wonder and wisdom have captivated audiences of all ages whether she is standing in the classroom or on a concert stage.
Carolyn engages her audiences in new cultures, long-lost paths in history, and exciting places she invites and implores you to visit. Her stories of Connecticut and New England paint vivid pictures of events so important to the history and culture of our forbears.
Jim’s long-standing program, Characters Known Along the Way, is ever changing to introduce stories of fascinating people who have influenced him over the years. He combines wit and poignancy to bring those characters to life.
