Storytelling “The Talk of the Town”
#33 in Little D
March 08-11, 2018
Every March since 1985, fabulous tale spinners have filled the air with stories in Denton, “Little D,” Texas, 45 miles northwest of “Big D”—or, as Dentonites say, “north of ordinary.”
In 2018, our “Talk of the Town” will feature storytelling concerts, workshops, music, Story Slam, Liar’s Contest, and Story Swaps. FREE: Ghost Stories, Sacred Tales, Fringe Concert, youth activities, and family concert.
Featured Tellers are Adam Booth, Beth Horner, Laura Packer and Tim Tingle
Leadership Jefferson says Adam Booth is “Better than Netflix.” A four-times winner of the West Virginia Liars Contest, Adam weaves folktales into mesmerizing new stories.
Beth Horner’s “wit is so sharp you can shave with it.” A repeat favorite at the National Storytelling Festival, she is narrative consultant for N.A.S.A., collecting stories of the Apollo Space Missions.
“A true daughter of Sheherazade!” Laura Packer is a saucy and sensual teller. Her show Fairy Tales for Grown Ups was a winner at the Indianapolis Fringe Festival.
Celebrated author and storyteller Tim Tingle is an enrolled Oklahoma Choctaw. His great-great grandfather walked the Trail of Tears. Tim shares his passion for Native American and ghost stories with thousands of eager listeners.
