Two well-known storytellers and NSN members, Sue Searing and Richard Rousseau, participated in the Great American Story, a storytelling competition held in Park Rapids, MN, on Saturday, September 22.

Sue Searing won the Great American Story with two original stories. Richard Rousseau entertained the audience with stories while ballots cast by the audience voting to determine the winner of the storytelling competition were being counted.

A live storytelling event called “Suitcase Stories,”organized by the International Institute of New England, which resettles refugees in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, will have seven NH refugees telling their own stories.

One of them, Ageth Okeny, who fled Sudan with her kids to a refugee camp in Egypt before coming to NH, has wanted to share the story of her story for many years.

The Vendor Resource Room/Marketplace is a popular location for Summit attendees. In the Resource Room/Marketplace Summit attendees can find items being sold by many of the storytellers you know and love. NSN will be providing vendor space again at the 2019 National Storytelling Summit and we're inviting YOU to participate! If you're planning to attend the 2019 Summit and would like to reserve space in the Resource Room/Marketplace for consignment items, you don't have to wait - we're accepting reservations for space beginning today!

The basics are: you can submit your reservation now, the NSN staff will add your information to the reservation list and will follow up about consignment specifics closer to the Summit. The reservation helps the staff ensure that all consignors can be accommodated with space and consignors won't have to worry about missing the deadline for submitting their consignment information!
