For many years a wordspinner, as a part time poet, particularly when there was an opportunity to perform and I suppose those poems all told stories in their way. But then came Covid and we had to do things differently. I became an enthusiastic Zoomer and through sheer serendipity was introduced to the eclectic world of Newfoundland Recitations, stories in rhyme, with heroes such as Kev the Uncookable Lobster, Fluffy the Cat with Cattitude and a gruesome collection of Miners and Murderers. I was hooked, ordered up my bottle of Rhyming Ink and have not looked back.
Once we were let out again, the stories started to travel, and the telling of a tale has been woven into a new project with two Isle of Wight writers and performers. Together we are the Three Crones, never invisible, never ignored. My role is Cass, Sea Crone, stories, poems and songs and, oh deep joy, dressing up.
