The Kuumba Storytellers of Georgia are celebrating over 25 years of Tellin’ it Well in the A- T-L! This year we are presenting a virtual storytelling event honoring the legacy of our mothers and fathers called, Kings and Queens – The wind beneath our wings on Sunday, June 11,2023 from 3PM to 5 PM EST. Tickets are $15.00. Featured Tellers include Esther Culver, Vanora Legeaux, Barry Stewart Mann, and Kory May!

Highlights include prerecorded stories from Ernestine Brown (Founder of Mama Tales) and one of our ancestors as well as founding legacy members, Akbar Imhotep. Kuumba’s Youth, The Tattle Tales will perform and there’s also a special presentation by National Association of Black Storytellers Co-Founder, Mama Linda Goss! Our Emcee for the program is Kuumba Teller, Gloria Elder.

This event will appeal to audiences who’ve never attended a storytelling program as there are a range of tellers who have crafted the art of storytelling by making moments in history come to life!  Come join us as we share stories about the Kings and Queens who have impacted our lives and those of many others. From tried-and-true traditional tales to powerful personal narratives, these stories will encourage, enlighten, and uplift your spirit.

For all ticket purchasers, a recording will be available for viewing up to two weeks afterwards! To learn more about Kuumba Storytellers, visit us at kuumbastorytellers.org. Program subject to change.
