Living a distance from our grandchildren, my wife suggested we write some stories about our childhood. After writing a few, I found this to be fun and that growing up in a small town had provided me with many stories.
I found that I had a talent for telling stories, I joined the Jonesborough TN Storytellers Guild and auditioned for the designation of teller. As teller I was able to tell stories to a variety of people. My experience includes telling stories at the weekly concert and other programs held by Jonesborough storytellers, telling stories in my pulpit supply work, the storyteller at an Old Christmas program, and storyteller for school children and Senior Citizens.
Since ETSU has a Masters Degree in Storytelling, I have audited 16 hours of storytelling classes with instructors like: Elizabeth Ellis and workshops with Doug Lipman.
I am a Commissioned Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church and lead worship services in many churches in the Presbytery.
My personal time and talents include; publication of “How to Do Accounting I” and How to Do Accounting II”, teaching computer classes, singing in the church choir, and singing in the Palmetto Statesmen Chorus
