Called “a natural raconteur” by the Washington Post and a “top teller” by TimeOut New York, Jamie Brickhouse is a New York Times published author who has recorded voices on Beavis and Butthead, appeared on PBS-TV’s “Stories from the Stage” and The Moth Podcast, is a National Storytelling Network 2018 Summit Grand Slam champion, is a four-time Moth StorySLAM champion, and has appeared multiple times on Kevin Allison’s Risk! (live shows and podcasts) and The Story Collider (live show and podcast). He is currently touring two award-winning, critically-acclaimed solo shows: Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother based on his critically-acclaimed memoir and directed by Obie-winning David Drake; and I Favor My Daddy (winner “Staff Pick Award” 2019 FRIGID New York Festival, awarded “Best Bet” of FringeNYC, the New York International Fringe Festival and called “comedic perfection” and “absolutely first rate” by Theater is Easy and Hi! Drama) based on his forthcoming memoir. Dangerous When Wet received rave reviews from the Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Minneapolis-St. Paul Twin Cities Reader, and theater publications across the country, won FRIGID’s Audience Choice Award, Best of San Francisco Fringe, Sold Out San Francisco Fringe, and Best of Capital Fringe. Brickhouse is also a Literary Death Match champion and has performed at storytelling shows throughout New York City and beyond (Mexico, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Minneapolis, Asheville, NC). A native of Beaumont, Texas, he is a graduate of Trinity University (San Antonio) and the Radcliffe Publishing Course (now the Columbia Publishing Course).
