Creative storyteller and arts consultant, Dr. Gail N. Herman, has performed and taught storytelling extensively throughout the United States. Gail also taught and/or performed in Oman, Ghana, India, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Jamaica, Germany, Montreal, and the Virgin Islands. Besides performing for students in schools and libraries, Dr. Herman works with teachers and helping professionals to infuse storytelling and the kinesthetic, musical, and spatial aspects of learning in the curriculum --reading, creative writing, science, math, speech, & social studies. She taught for Lesley University, MA, and continues to teach at CONFRATUTE for The University of Connecticut. Gail has taught at Garrett College & directed the Tall Tale Liars Festival in MD for 19 years.
She was a guest lecturer on movement, sound & stories in the art appreciation classes at George Mason Univ. and Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA). She presented many storytelling workshops to organizations such as NAGC, AEGUS, NSN, NAEYC, CT Storytelling, NEST, & ILA.
Gail also worked as a Validator for the MD Dept. of Early Childhood Ed. and as an Evaluator for the MD Arts Council.
