Bio
Award winning storyteller, actor, writer and educator, Regina Ress has performed and taught for over forty years from Brazil to Broadway, in English and Spanish, in a wide variety of settings from grade schools to senior centers, from homeless shelters and prisons to Universities, Lincoln Center and The White House. Festival appearances in the US and abroad have taken her as close to home as Central Park and and far as the Canary Islands (Tenerife). Her stories range from folktales and mythology to original stories about Love, New York CIty and a Life Well Lived. She is a regular contributor to Cityscape on NPR affiliate WFUV-NY.
Regina teaches Storytelling for New York University>s Programs in Educational Theatre and Multilingual/ Multicultural Studies (TESOL) and workshops for teachers on using storytelling to teach language and literacy. She now spends a lot of time in northern New Mexico where she has taught ESL and Presentation Skills for foreign students at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. She co-produces short documentaries on domestic violence with Healing Voices-Personal Stories film company (hv-ps.org)
Regina>s CD, New York & Me, won the 2014 Storytelling World Honor Award. In 2015, NSN awarded her the Oracle Award for Regional Excellence. Regina has a car and will travel!
