Barbara Schutzgruber is an award-winning storyteller, recording artist and author who shares folktales, ballads and personal stories of resilience to audiences of all ages presenting workshops, showcases, keynotes and performances nationally and internationally in schools, libraries, senior centers, prisons, state parks, hospitals, museums, festivals, radio and cable television. An award-winning fiber artisan, she has had the honor of sharing the stories and parts of the vast history of the textile arts in historical settings and on stages across the country and internationally.
• Her six recordings have won two Parents Choice Gold Awards, an American Library Association Notable Award, and two Storytelling World Honor Awards.
• She is the co-author of the Storytelling World award-winning book Beyond the Sword Maiden: A Storyteller's Introduction to the Heroine's Journey.
• She is a recipient of the National Storytelling Network ORACLE Award for Regional Excellence - North Central Region
