Bio
I am deeply committed to being a tradition bearer passing down songs, stories and folk arts to the next generation. I grew up in a folk music family and learned to play fiddle, banjo, bagpipe, dulcimer and guitar. I now weave music through my storytelling. I tell traditional and personal stories as well as hybrid tales. This is my work for over 50 years now. Recently I visited a pre-school where I told the Gingerbread Man with a dancing puppet. I told the story of Cerridwen and Gwion to a circle of women around a fire. I called a square dance with my fiddle at a wedding. I shared ghost stories with ages 11 and up at a museum. I told stories as part of a family literacy night for middle school and my Books Alive show at an elementary school and I was a Teller-in- Residence in Jonesborough and so much more! I love what I do.
