Every month for the past 10 years, people from all walks of life have converged to tell true, personal stories as part of the Porchlight series. No matter how funny or shocking or unbelievable, the storytellers reveal the commonalities that pervade the human experience. Founders and hosts Beth Lisick and Arline Klatte have charmed, inspired and coaxed yarns out of an astonishing range of individuals who represent the rich diversity of life that makes the Bay Area so special.
“No amount of rehearsal or showmanship can compete with an authentic person telling a simple story,” says Klatte, when asked what they’ve learned over the past decade. “We never really thought about doing it for a certain amount of time. We always just wanted to keep doing it if it was fun and we felt inspired. How amazing that it’s lasted 10 years.”
