SPONSORED MEMBER PROGRAM/FISCAL SPONSORSHIP

The NSN Sponsored Member Program enables NSN’s individual and non-501c3 organizational members to apply for funds under its non-profit umbrella and thus makes new sources of funding available to them. NSN fiscal sponsorship complies with IRS regulations for donations by foundations and corporations.

 

MEMBER GRANT PROGRAM

NSN supports a Member Grant Program through which NSN individual and organizational members may apply for funding up to $1,000 to develop new projects that will encourage NSN outreach, promotion and membership.

 

MEMBER OF THE CORPORATION

You become a member of the corporation and can vote on the bylaws of the corporation. (Note: Student and Organizational members are not considered members of the corporation.)

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS & BENEFITS
A student membership can be granted to someone who is in high school grades 9-12 or someone who is currently enrolled, full-time or part-time, in a degree-granting program. Excluded are persons who are enrolled in career-enhancing programs or just taking a course at a school. Must be actively pursuing a post-secondary degree.
Student memberships will have all benefits of regular membership EXCEPT they will not receive a physical copy of Storytelling Magazine. They will be able to access it online by signing into the Members Only area of the website with their email address and password. They will not be considered a member of the corporation.

 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

NSN Organizational members have access to all the benefits listed above plus the organization-directed benefits listed below:

Members or employees of an NSN Organizational member can receive 10% off NSN individual membership for each member or employee who wants to become an individual member.

Organizational members may register up to three (3) employees of the organization for NSN events at the member rate.

Organizational members can receive discounts for advertising its events and activities on the NSN website and in the Storytell Magazine.

Non-Profit Organizational Membership – $100

Open to nonprofit organizations interested in storytelling.

 

For-Profit Organizational Membership – $125

Open to for-profit organizations interested in storytelling.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)

A Special Interest Group (SIG) is a formal group created by National Storytelling Network (NSN) members joining together within the structure of NSN for a common purpose, exploring their area of interest in storytelling. SIG members pay additional dues to support SIG activities, such as workshops sessions, publications, mentoring programs, etc. You must be a member of NSN to join a Special Interest Group.

Environmental Storytelling Special Interest Group – $25

An informal network of storytellers, educators, park rangers, docents, and others who use storytelling in environmental education and advocacy.

Producers and Organizers Special Interest Group (PRO) – $25

Encourages cooperation, networking, and support among storytelling event organizers within NSN and to foster the professional growth of the individual members.

Storytelling in Organizations Special Interest Group (SIO) – $25

Brings narrative insights onto the contemporary business scene by documenting and promoting the constructive role and widespread importance of storytelling in corporate, non-profit, small business, education, and other settings.

Youth, Educators and Storytellers Special Interest Group (YES) – $25

Promotes youth storytelling and encourages educators to use storytelling as an educational tool.
