2024 Sierra Storytelling Festival

The Sierra Storytelling Festival returns for its 37th year with another internationally acclaimed lineup of featured storytellers. This year’s festival will be held at the North Columbia Schoolhouse amphitheater on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29. Lovers of the spoken word will gather under the tall pines to hear the ancient art of storytelling brought to life by a diverse group of master artists.

This year’s stories will include music, movement, and dance, as well as personal experience, mythical folklore, and universal truths of the human condition. They may even make the world a better place.

The featured tellers are Eth-Noh-Tec, Bil Lepp, Diane Ferlatte, Archy Jamjun, and Gayle Ross, with guest teller Tom Wade. Our Local Teller showcase features Shirley Dickard. For more information about the featured tellers and the festival please visit www.sierrastorytellingfestival.org.

In addition to hours of wonderful stories, the Sierra Storytelling Festival will have a workshop, an open telling session, and a story slam for aspiring tellers.  The workshop is ‘History is No Mystery” led by Eth-Noh-Tec.

There will be delicious food and drink available on the gorgeous grounds and a local fine art show on display in the historical one-room Schoolhouse.

Although the majority of the festival is geared toward adults, the Children’s Story Hour on Friday, June 28, from 4-5pm, is a great time to bring the young ones.

Early bird Tickets go on sale March 1st on the www.sierrastorytellingfestival.org website.
