Broken Mirror: The Poetic Mosaic of a Broken Mind is a one-man show written, directed, and performed by The Artist Anubis. This production takes audiences inside today’s contemporary Black man’s heart, mind, and fears. Fusing theater and improv into his technique, The Artist Anubis grapples with defining himself as a son, lover, and father—all while in the presence of his therapist. At times, his eloquence feels as if the artist is grasping for sanity and, at other times, his humanity. His introspection reveals the shadows and all that is light as he fights his way back to his mental wellness. Honesty is at the forefront of his performances—all done eloquently by The Artist Anubis in spoken word rhyme, which makes Broken Mirror an enjoyable experience as we relate, asking ourselves which of our truths lie in the pieces.

Anubis takes the audience on an emotional rollercoaster, delivering stories filled with sobering drama and moments of intriguing comedy.” – Behind the Scenes Magazine
