Summary
There are three storytelling organizations in Gainesville which produce monthly personal storytelling events: Self Narrate, the Conch and Guts & Glory While people often assume these groups are in competition with each other, Self Narrate’s director Brandon Telg said:
“We all want to see each other succeed, and we all believe in what each other is doing,” Telg said. “We all do this work because we care about the impact of stories and stories as a community builder.”
The Story Summit proves Telg’s point. Several times a year, two of the best storytellers from each group are chosen to tell at the Story Summit at Heartwood Soundstage .
Telg continued: “Story Summit is the best night of storytelling you’re going to see in Gainesville. Period,”
